Notes of Parish Meetings

Notes from the Parish Council Meeting - February 2007

The following were amongst items discussed at Parish Council meetings and information received by the Clerk.

1. Annual Parish Meeting. This year's Annual Parish Meeting will be held on 25 April in the Glebe School Hall. This is your chance to hear reports on the last twelve months from the Parish Council, Girton Town Charity and County and District Councillors. The evening will also include an opportunity to discuss the street lighting which the District Council have refused to fund. The Parish Meeting is intended to be an inclusive event for the village. As last year village clubs and societies are invited to take part in a "societies fair" from 7pm to 8pm when the formal part of the evening will begin. For newcomers to the village - or even those not so new - this will be the perfect opportunity to see what this community has to offer. If your group is interested in attending and booking a table please contact the Parish Clerk.

2. New dog litter bin at Pepys Way. The new bin is situated on a lamp post between the top of Pepys Way and the doctor's surgery. A letter from the Parish Council has been posted through the letterboxes of all residents in Pepys Way, St Vincent's Close, Giffords Close and Woody Green asking all dog owners to make use of the dog bins in the area and asking non-dog owners to encourage compliance and if necessary report any problems.

3. Development on NIAB site. At an extraordinary meeting on 7 April the Council received a presentation on the proposed development at the NIAB site from the City Council's major sites Officer. Our response can be seen in the minutes of that meeting on the parish website.

4. Forthcoming meetings. The next Parish Council meetings will be held on Wednesday 21 March and Wednesday 18 April 2007 at Orchard Close Community Centre. The meetings will begin at 7.30pm.
