Notes of Parish Meetings
Notes from the Parish Council Meeting - September 2012
The following were amongst items discussed at Parish Council meetings and information received by the Clerk. The full minutes may be found here.
August's Parish Council Meetings
On 7th August, parish councillors met informally with representatives from Cambridge University, South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council prior to the Joint Development Control Committee meeting at which the NW Cambridge planning application was discussed. The Parish Council's concerns, particularly regarding the transport and infrastructure impact on Girton, were then taken to the Joint Development Control Meeting the following day.
Parish Notice-board at Wellbrook Way
The Council has agreed to place a Parish Council notice-board at Wellbrook Way, of the same design as the Council's existing notice-boards in the village, and are in consultation with the Wellbrook Way Residents' Association regarding the siting of this notice-board.
We are pleased to report that work on the new cricket nets has now been completed, although before next season more work will need to be done to make the area secure.
The Parish Council would like to thank the anonymous person who, on finding a wallet on the Recreation Ground, kindly put it in the Parish Office postbox - we were able to trace the wallet's owner, who was very grateful for its return.
Any spare mugs?
As the football season starts, if anyone has spare mugs which they'd like to donate to the Pavilion kitchen, we'd be very grateful. Please contact Linda Miller at the Parish Office if you can help.
The next meetings of the Parish Council will be held on Wednesday 19th September and Wednesday 17th October, starting at 7.30 p.m. at St Vincent's Close Community Centre. Members of the public are welcome to attend all Parish Council meetings and to speak at the open session at the start.
